I’ve got my endo appointment on the 08/July for the Addisons diagnosis So obviously I’ll need to update him on this result.
I’m back to self injecting every other day since I had the test done,I had to stop for two weeks to do it so I’m starting to feel better again and although it’s not great I feel a certain relief at the results ,sounds bad I know but I’ve been desperately trying to get some kind of support and answers for so long and spent so much of my savings I feel a bit happier if you get my reasoning, sounds daft I know.
My new gp has been quite co operative so far so I don’t wish to alienate this one by going in threatening his credibility so I’ll just take in a copy of these results next week and see how he reacts first I think and meantime I’ll carry on self injecting.X
Yes all going well first grandchild .very exciting . Eldest daughter in her early thirties.
Triaged for tooth in the morning. Have been twice already in pandemic after initially not fitting the criteria for treatment So one month on I did with an infection. Then root canal work. But because all temporary fillings and not crowned the root canal weakened the actual tooth and completely fallen apart. Feel sick at the thought of more antibiotics . Want it out now if they will see me and agree as not open yet to complete treatment.
Rough ride at present but you know all about that .
I hope your investigations coming up will give a clearer treatment plan for you.
That’s so exciting for you you’ll have so much fun my first grandchild gave me a great grandaughter last year,I have 6 grandchildren all girls, and I love them dearly. They keep you young and I forget all my ills when I see them.
Thanks so much cherylclaire I know I shouldn’t gloat but it’s such a relief to get that label after all the misdiagnosing I’ve been through and all the invasive crap I knew wasn’t needed.same with the Addisons diagnosis which again I had to pay for and I now have to pay again to get a decent endo,I blame this all on neglect from gps.
I take my hat off to anyone researching and learning to try and get some answers it’s no easy task when your feeling so rubbish as you know.
I don’t look forward to self injecting I totally dread it every second day but I understand I’ve no choice or I’m staggering again and have no co ordination.i do feel better but it also feels like a temporary better,Thank you again and take care x
Hi Tellaaa I had two saliva cortisol tests done which both showed low cortisol then a couple of months later I did the 24 hour urine cortisol test with medichecks and their doctors said very low cortisol and confirmed possible Addisons which a gp friend confirmed so because my gp used lockdown as an excuse not to do the am cortisol blood test that endo requested I’ve now gone private again with my latest results to a highly recommended endo who specialises in pituatory and adrenal problems, when I gave gp a copy of the latest cortisol test results he also said I needed steroid treatment but he admitted although he had some experience of Addisons it’s so rare he’d be happier to follow the guidance of the endo I asked to be referred to so my appointment is next week.
It’s very rare apparently only 8000 cases in U.K. so hopefully you don’t have it bu5 get yourself checked out if you’ve any doubts, ask gp to do an a.m cortisol blood test.
The urine test is the best as far as I’ve been told.I think they tend to take more notice of that I was also told that the am blood test is not so good as it only gives a reading at that particular moment unlike the urine test which gives results over 24 hours.
The next test would be an sst test at the hospital have a google to explain.
Yes you have to take steroids or you can die basically.its very serious.
I’ve no idea what your gp would do you’ll have to discuss that with them but he should refer you to the experts.
Have a look on the Addisons website or look at the pituatory website for further advice as I’m afraid I’m not medically trained.
