If you've PA you need injections . Get a telephone consult. Telk them the BSH latest letter .
I've not tried patches.
I'm still taking tablets as i have them.
Wont be buying anymore when this lot gone. If you canr absorb it takes slot of passive absorbtion to get what you need . I personally canr get enough b12 this way . Using them inbetween I jections.
I tried them , and I found them completely useless . Our scientist -in-residence , fbirder , has told us that a B12 molecule is too large to pass through the skin . I have P.A. and injections are the only solution for me .

The latest BSH Guidelines, as Nackapan says, should get your injections reinstated if you have been diagnosed as having PA . The Pernicious Anaemia Society website will have details of this.
Many surgeries have erroneously contacted patients with information about liver stores being an adequate source of B12 for months or years so there is no reason to worry if you miss a few injections. This is not the case.
In fact, those with PA cannot access B12 from liver stores.
I tried every conceivable form of B12 in between injections, patches were not at all effective, sublingual helped a little for maybe a day then stopped being effective at all, in the end I bit the bullet, self injected and haven't looked back. I'd rather not self inject, but I'd rather self inject than be really ill xx
I am terrified of self injecting. I find most injections I have at the surgery excruciating . Am I just a wuss??
Hi. That's what I've joined this site for. I want to self inject as my GP has stopped B12 due to the pandemic. I am feeling terrible cos not only is my B12 injection 5 weeks overdue now, the surgery told me to phone back in six weeks. I have no trouble self injecting as I have been injecting biologics for arthritis for years. Any advice would. be truly appreciated.
I have a lifelong fear of needles and have learned to self inject. Trust me if I can do it, you can do it!! My tip: be sure to let the rubbing alcohol completely evaporate so you won't have that sting when the needle goes in.
Self inject self inject self inject! Take control.
You wont look back. We have enough to contend with without seriously misinformed GPs.
Unfortunately B12 cannot get through the skin. Well, it can, but only if you run an electric current across the skin, or of the patch has hundreds of small needles filled with the B12.
