Cyanocobalamin 50 mcg

Hi there, got a prescription for cyanocobalamin from doctors on Friday last week but have been told that it is cheapest and lowest quality form of b12 and that the cyanide could accumulate in my body. The doctor says my b12 levels were "fine" but I have no idea what the levels were as haven't seen the actual results for myself. Should I continue taking these or stop in case I'm not deficient. My main concern is that my hand eye coordination is very poor and sometimes my balance especially when going upstairs, trying to get results from doctors.

Ivr taken them as told to some time ago by Gp. She wanting to lesson the amount of injections I am having. They were cheaper to buy.

Havent done a thing.

If you were on injections . No comparison .

Its been advised to try 1000mcg if injections sropped.

U would find out what your level is. Probably wint mean a thing . Go by your symptoms.

Have you tried it Sobs1962?

Has it had any effect?

I wasn't aware until recently there are different kinds of B12 injection. I had been SI Cyanocobalamin instead of my usual Hyrdo without realising and wondering why it wasn't working (for me).

What I've read is NHS says it's fine to use but my own research also showed different types seem to work better for different people.

Cyanocobalamin will be just as good as any other sort of B12.

Yes, it will release cyanide. No, the cyanide will not accumulate in your body. Apple seeds contain a compound (amygdalin) that also produces cyanide. The amount released by 50 mcg of cyanocobalamin is about the same as the amount released by half of an apple seed.

I was told my B12 levels were 'fine', but you cannot go by those, as often you get a normal result, but still need your injections. I am beginning to think that we know more about our own bodies and their needs than the doctors do!
