I think keeping vitamin d levels up can help you in all ways. One of which is boost immune system.

Take some vitamin d3 and vitamin c perhaps

Almost everybody in the UK will have low Vitamin D if they haven't been taking supplements over the winter, as advided by the NHS - nhs.uk/news/food-and-diet/t...

Just take a low dose supplement, like they say.

Low vitamin D can have a slight adverse effect on the immune system. As can too high a level of vitamin D.

I'm b12 and folate deficient but I haven't been having my b12 jabs as my family have had to self isolate for the last month...

Now reading in news about low vitamin D saying you at risk of death ... I just thought oh great .....🥴🙄 thanks for your advice x

Best to take Vitamin D3 with VitaminK2 . The Vitamin K makes sure that the D gets directed into your bones and K reduces calcium plaque in the arteries .

You are so knowledgeable I know it's a just a typo and you meant K2, rather than K3! 🤪

This is extremely good advice and should be standard practice, however I will just add the caveat that this is the case so long as the person doesn't need anticoagulants as K2 helps in blood clotting function and therefore is an anticoagulant antagonist.

Hiya!

Have you seen that Pippa76 is an NHS worker who is B12d?

She might be able to help you in your picture quest!

Pippa76,

Vitamin D is important to the immune system so take supplements if you can.

At present theories spread like wildfire and I think you need to bear that in mind when listening to the news but particularly when looking at social media.

whilst vitamin D deficiency may be a factor in how some people are responding to the virus it isn't what I would describe as a major risk factor.

Dr John Campbell, has been analysing COVID-19 since January 2020, and he is adamant that topping up Vit D levels is hugely important. Here is a link to his YouTube channel: youtube.com/watch?v=GCSXNGc... - he also provides lots of evidence. :)

Malcolm Kendrick seems to think it pretty important, too. drmalcolmkendrick.org/2020/... But remember you can overdo Vit D so best to test, supplement if required and retest so you keep within sensible ranges. Medichecks do a home test if needed.

This is what New Scientist said about Vitamin D and the immune system -

A 2017 review of the evidence for taking vitamin D supplementation concluded that it prevents upper respiratory tract infections. About 1000 to 2000 IUs should be safe and beneficial, says Wu, but people shouldn’t go higher than that because big doses actually suppress T-cell function.
