My Gp replied to my letter.

She rang me (on request) I cannot have a prescription for b12 and inject at home. Definitely not SC and no suggestion of IM.

However my treatment of 2 weekly b12 IM injections by the nurse at this stage will not be withdrawn .

She also added as the frequent injections were approved by the neurologist I last saw he may prescribe. !or may not. That one i paid to see as discharged by NHS one on a high dose of amitriptyline .(he thought b12 toxic and I should stop b12 injections ) so I didnt want to see him anymore.

So as consult £210 and got no where wont be doing that .

So cheaper and loads more control to buy you own . Thank you again to all who helped me on here . Kj

I realise I'm very fortunate at this stage not to have treatment withdrawn. It shouldn't be 'fortunate ' though . It should be automatic receiving needed treatment. I'm getting do annoyed with the stress its putting everyone under with B12 deficiency and PA.

I have written to the Practice Manager at my practice about this because I am unsure whether they are still administering B12 injections or not.

Although I no longer get any NHS injections myself, the fact that some surgeries are even viewing B12 injections as "non-urgent" treatment indicates that they really do not understand in the slightest what it feels like from a patient's perspective.

My injections were stopped because I was honest about self injecting. Now many practices are pushing patients into doing exactly this by withholding treatment indefinitely.

I'm certain my practice is not one of them, but I needed to voice my concerns just in case.

I'm not expecting a reply - they have enough to deal with - but left contact details in case I can be of help in any way during the crisis. I also included details for the Pernicious Anaemia Society post on this subject.

Perhaps anyone with concerns about this could do the same.

We have so much to thank the NHS for, but the idea of any deficient person being left in isolation with no access to B12 absolutely horrifies me. Maybe we can make a difference on their behalf. Let's hope.

I remember your Injections being stopped as you honest and wanted it on your notes. Itd just awful transparency does not pay.

The more we write the more awareness should get it onto the agenda. Even the discussions in surgeries whether tk give them of not.

My daughter us due hers and simply cannot get hold of the surgery. The longest she waited on hold was 5o minutes.

Trying online now. She loves in another health authority so I hope she gets it.

I'm going my first si today.

She will definitely write in .

Her diagnosis late and only came to light on a 1o day hospital admission.

Yes the NHS I worked in fir so many years does a food job in many things

I. Certainly spreading thr word amongst friends still in the profession nurses and commissioners and senior doctors. All of whom say my symptoms cant be b12!!!!

Some have retired and others will soon . So weary to take on anything. But it wi get passed on.

I've sent the petition around too that's been going on to get b12 over the counter.

I did notice and have commented that the poster I took to the surgery sleepybunny posted never went up.

That was what before this crisis.

Yes patients are being pushed which a horrible position to be in.

Mind you I've had no direction or explanation.

My Gp does bloods when I ask but I'm not a doctor!

You constantly amaze me, Nackapan . So helpful, kind, supportive and proactive despite being so ill. Exactly what you would want from an NHS worker - except the "ill" bit, obviously !

Have heard on here that some nurses are not getting the PPE to enable them to administer the injections personally with any degree of safety - this could well be why they are being cancelled in some surgeries.

Cannot understand why MPs keep saying that the issues of frontline NHS staff being given correct PPE and being tested are being addressed, then disbanding for weeks - without having sorted it at all.

Wonder if Martyn Hooper has heard back from any of them yet.

Yes that's been in the news. (Not me trying to be helpful ) it flashes up on my phone.

The regular nurse I saw had a gown gloves and mask on.

I felt a little under dressed and wondered if I should've at least had gloves on to get through the doors I did have wipes. The nurse was clearly stressed amd I observed just how interaction stops with the mask ect. I have to wear a hat and dark glasses because of light sensitivity. Must've looked so bizarre but totally necessary.

Hope Martyn Hooper has had some feedback
