Anxiety improvements

Hello again - sorry b12 is a big deal in my life right now..

So, I would say I can be a relatively anxious person for sure, and I have had to learn ways to cope with this. However, having recently had my loading doses (last one three weeks ago), I found myself much much much improved. I knew for sure this was not my imagination after a really stressful event which could not be dealt with until the following day, did not interrupt my sleep at all. This is astonishing given how I have been sleeping over the past three or so years, stress or not.

I'm not sure anyone will be able to answer this unless they've had similar experience of specifically anxiety as a symptom of low b12, but I am wondering if those who have, felt their anxiety improved in a linear way during loading doses only, or if it has continued to decrease beyond their initial loading doses and with some fluctuations along the way?

PS Merry imminent Christmas to all.

Hi, how interesting! And it will be interesting for me to see what other people say as I have very bad anxiety and at the moment I'm on B12 spray until I build the courage to have the shots

My anxiety has improved tremendously since treatment. It is the first symptom to return while I wait for my next dose. After two years, it has improved so much and is now so subtle that I have trouble telling if I'm anxious because it's time for a dose or if there is a valid reason to be anxious.

This is so great to hear that it has continued to improve even if it shows up again before your next dose. I’m so happy for you :)

Also I would like to add that over the years I became more anxious and touchy. I was able to control it most of the times but unfortunately not always while being with my beloved ones. But Looking back in time this isn't in my character at all it kind of slowly became part of my personality...I wasn't aware that this must have been part of the b12 deficiency.

Since I am on injections I feel a wonderfully balanced person almost overnight! It was one of the first symptoms to go, even though I wasn't aware of the fact it was one of my symptoms. I can't answer your question whether it is an improvement in a linear way or not though, as the injections I am having are twice a week which is quite a lot. For me it is very obvious though that b12 deficiency and anxiety are related.

I've always been an anxious person but my feelings of anxiety during the year prior to starting my B12 shots were awful. I woke up with horrible feelings of anxiety every day. My anxiety made it hard for me to go to sleep and stay asleep. I attributed the increase in my anxiety to menopause symptoms so I tried to soldier through, hoping they would eventually go away.

After my first B12 shot I felt a flood of peace come over me that was absolutely wonderful. I had been close to asking for anti anxiety meds from my therapist but once I started B12 treatment is was no longer a problem. A curious side effect of my B12 shots was my social anxiety disappeared. I had been seeing a therapist to work on my social anxiety issues and had reached a hurdle that I wasn't able to get over. After I started getting regular B12 shots I noticed during social situations I was no longer nervous. I found myself observing this change in my personality and wondering how it had happened. I did some googling and found a research paper that specifically mentioned social anxiety being helped by B12 deficiency treatment.
