Returning symptoms

Hi All

To cut a long story short, I was diagnosed b12d over 5 years ago - I had multiple symptoms most of which have now ceased or been reduced. However, during the five years and the diminishing of symptoms, I have gone the majority of the 12 weeks between injections (for the last year 8 weeks) largely symptom free yet come week 5/7 I have a repeat of symptoms with up to 8 events on the first day then, over 7/8 days a reduction until all symptoms cease until my next injection. Occasionally, I have had the odd 1/2 events just before of just after the injection but essentially they only return approximately 6 weeks after the injection.

I supplement daily and, although my diet is pretty close to vegan, I do calculate enoughb12 in foods fortified with b12 on a daily basis.

Now, I can see the logic that maybe to symptoms return as the efficacy of the b12 in the injection has diminished in my system hence I need more regular injections but what I don’t understand is why the symptoms return roughly midway the cease after about a week and, generally, do not return until halfway during the next injection sequence.

Any ideas why this might be?

Have a good Christmas all if your illness allows you to and thank you for all the help and advice I’ve received from bloggers on this site and I wish you all a healthier New Year.

This has happened to me . I was trying g 3 weekly. On day 16-18 I'd have different symptoms. I'm never okay but csn usually do some things in daylight I tried 3 times but different symptoms happened each time. I'd then get a okay ish day them down again. Then injection.

I'm back on 2 weekly so shocked that on day 9 felt rough. Then day 10 okayish. Day 11 today and have hardly been able to move. Main problem tinnitus and scalp/head pain also a feeling of flu.?? I do not understand it. I've even taken 2 oral b12 tablets today. Last time I tried they did absolutely nothing. I've got them so may as well try.

Maybe surges in the system of b12 causing your pattern. Or unwittingly your activity routine??

What are yiye 7-8 symptoms? Are they the same each time? No rhyme or reason most of the time

I wish you a merry christmas too

Merry Christmas Alfabeta - sorry I can't help. I can't think what might make you recover from a deterioration without involving supplements.

Well, unless it is something you eat that your body rejects / is related to a vitamin-snatching bacteria (like SIBO) - but seems too established a pattern. Could try Kombucha I suppose ?

……. if I woffle on long enough, someone useful might turn up !

luck and love to you.
