Thankyou for your help foggyme.

Well I've been to pysio and have had my right shoulder taped. Not what I was expecting.Tricky to sleep.

Also exercises to release neck muscles. Have felt very light headed and quite unwell. However my tinnitus has decreased . ? More blood ti my brain. Willing to try anything within reason.

Early days but I think all of us who have had pain end up tensing up and our posture changes. Which then in turn does us no favours.

He spoke of how our brains unconsciously remember associations with pain . So even when repair is done and there is no reason for the pain ,you still get it.

Well... I walked into a room last night (the light had been left on) There was no foreknowledge, so not waiting for a reaction.I do 'test ' at times as going stir crazy in the dark at times as such long afternoon /evening. My body told me and i actually ducked!! My head had shooting pains up the back due to the lights. (They were dim too but the main one overhead was on ) I woke with a headache but not a migrain.

So even though I believe this theory i have no idea how you then switch it off.

! Or there is damage eye to brain from my severe b12 defiency that needs more healing hopefully.

Such a strange life at present.

So glad you're back as Nackapan - always makes me smile to see your name. Always kindness in your comments too.

The brain is a weird thing- your's seems to be trying to protect you. How do you fight that ?

I know what you mean about the testing: I've been testing recently whether or not I still need to self-inject every other day. Answer seems to be "possibly- but don't go more than 3 days and pace yourself" - but how do I know that's not just my brain ? Also, hard to tell what's happening if you're not symptom-free first, don't you think ?

As far as I know "learned pain" was discovered by a vet, Helen somebody, studying lameness in cows at Bristol University many years ago - I went to the presentation of her findings!

The nerves and brain sensors only take a few hours to "learn" the pain response that is triggered when the painful part is activated (ie a wound is pressed, as would happen when a sore foot was walked on, or in your case the lights being turned on and causing a migraine).

However once learnt it takes several days at least for the trigger response to give up - and any slight repeat of the situation causing the initial pain response sets it off again.

For instance you can treat the cow's foot and make it better but she will still limp for several days. If in this time she accidentally puts that foot down heavily or maybe stands on a stone - things which should only cause a few seconds of pain - it can set her back and make her more lame again for days.

However, if you give a cow pain relief within a few hours of her foot feeling sore before the nerves can "learn" the pain, once you treat her foot and take away the source of the pain she will walk away sound and stay sound.

From this the farming industry has learnt the importance of swift treatment with non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to hugely improve animal welfare and give rapid positive outcomes.

In your instance it wasn't possible to contain the pain of your migraines with swift treatment at the beginning so your senses have developed "learned pain".

Now that you know this is a factor in your situation I hope you can take some reassurance from it and know that your troubles will subside once you have taken away the source of your problems - your B12 deficiency.

If you are sure you are getting enough B12 and supporting supplements it will only be a matter of time before the nerves settle down.

Remember not to be too despondent that it's taking time and allow that odd triggers - like the lit room you walked into or missing one of your jabs - will set you back... But in time it will improve again.

Dare I say "there is light at the end of the tunnel"??!!! (Sorry!) 😜😘 x

He doesn't actually know but it's a possibility.

I have to keep testing it as that is life.
