Blood test results - low RDW

Hi all,

I've been combing through my medical records and I see that I have had a low RDW value flagged in several blood test results.

Does anyone know if this can be associated with PA? I believe a high value can, but a low value?

Just trying to find anything to lead me in the right direction...

Thanks in advance for any help!

No, a low RDW is nothing to worry about. It just means that your body is very consistent when it makes red blood cells.

Hi. It's best ignored! It is of no significance whatsoever. You're making red cells that are all very much the same size. It will increase in any state of change, for example if your MCV changes due to lack of iron, or B23, or folate. Then when that's corrected, it will revert to the previous state.
