Can you have a normal EMG/nerve conduction study but still be experiencing numbness and tingling from B12 deficiency?
My B12 level was 274 in the end of August and I’ve had weekly or near weekly injections since August 26th. So many of my symptoms have improved since starting injections, but the numbness and tingling in my right foot and leg in particular are still fairly persistent (especially with physical activity or when I get cold).
My neurologist is doing a skin biopsy on that leg in a few weeks. I’m just wondering if I need to be considering other possible diagnoses besides B12 deficiency since the nerve test was normal.

When I had a nerve test, I was told that only the major nerves in legs hands and feet were being tested, so could it be possible in your case that minor nerves are damaged ?
This might be why a skin biopsy is the next step for you.
Although specialists often expect to see symmetrical numbness/tingling in B12 deficiency, some forum members have experienced neurological symptoms more strongly on one side.
Thanks for your reply. That’s interesting on the symmetrical numbness and tingling. My left side is affected like the right when I exercise or get cold, but my right side has been worse/more consistent since all of this started.
