Hmm, that's the second time I've seen those results. Is Andypandy30 your uncle/aunt?
They all look OK.
Thanks fbirder very observant 😆. When you say they’re ok I was concerned as this girl has had symptoms underlying for years until the birth of her son almost a year ago and her symptoms including fatigue are worse . There is a very strong family history of pa and this was the reason for the test ? Her folate is too low as was mine before treatment and her active b12 is in lower range ? . I have no experience of active b12 as my serum results showed my b12 deficiency . Do you think she will need more evidence before doctor will agree to a trial of injections?
I had my Active b12 tested at St Thomas 3 years or so ago and if Active b12 was been 25-75, the MMA was then tested to see if it was raised, so that could be worth checking out further...my Dr listened to that diagnosis, as my nhs result was 260 and considered adequate.
That ferritin result is very low, I've been recommended by on here to keep it between 70-90. Mine has now dropped to 28 and I'm experiencing a lot of symptoms. I noticed my Drs have raised the bottom range offerritin to 23, so that makes that result definitely underange.
What tests has the Dr ran so far?
Hey Jo thanks for your reply I'm experiencing a lot of symptoms myself at the minute and a lot of family members have recently been diagnosed with pernicious anaemia and b12 deficiencies which is what prompted me to go down this route of testing, this is the first test I've gotten done but I have a doctors appointment on Friday to discuss my b12, Ferritin and Folate levels
Ah I see...sorry to hear that and I hope all goes well on Friday and you get good support from your Dr.
StThomas had changed their policy when I had a retest and you no longer needed a referral from your Dr, which was a great move forward! If you have any further questions about it, please ask, though there are far more knowledgable peeps on here than me😀
Hopefully your Dr will take into account your family history and symptoms..good luck.😀
