How long after stopping injections do symptoms return?

Sorry I've been such a pest lately, but I'm sort of at a precipice here. Per my other recent posts, I have temporarily stopped injections in attempting to diagnose my B12D (for the last 57 days). This morning, my right two middle fingers were more numb than usual and my "MS Hug" was gripping me from my knees to my chest. I've also had headaches the last two days, but I never had those as a symptom before so they might be unrelated. I am wondering how long it typically takes for symptoms to return when one stops injecting. I took some oral B12 a couple days ago as a test to see if it works. The finger numbness and MS Hug symptoms are the worst I've had for quite a while, back to the early days of injecting. I was planning to go another 10 days as part of this test, but if this keeps up, I might pull the plug on this and start injecting again. If so, I'll probably sneak one last B12 test in before I resume. Thanks for the ear. -Al

I think that's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question. We're all so different, we will all get symptoms back at different rates. You need to listen to your own body and do what's right for you

Everyone is different. Personally, if I go more than 2 days without injecting, the neuro symptoms start getting much worse. (I am new to this so only been injecting for about 3 months, don't know if that makes a difference.)

unfortunately it varies so much from person to person - the 'average' is going to be 1-2 months but there is a huge variation.

There was a poll on the forum about how frequently people needed to inject to feel okay - with some reporting they needed to inject more than once a day. Unfortunately it seems to have disappeared.

I find my symptoms return within 24 hours of an injection but I also find that oral and nasal supplements help me.

I use various, mostly sourced from a company called detoxpeople. The do Yuliv nasal spray and some nasal drops that I also use - I also vary types of B12 - hydroxo, methyl ... and I use some adenosyl sublinguals.

Makes perfect sense and thanks. Today has been a bad day. I think I'm learning that I need injections. I've had headaches and ocular migraine/aphasia things going on, in addition to the neuro symptoms snapping back. I'm gonna tell my doc. I might sneak one last B12 test in tomorrow morning. I don't even want to wait that long. Being mortal is a bitch.

Got my labs in after work and ran immediately home to give myself an injection. I'll report the results of the labs. Man, I feel like death eatin' a soda cracker. (expression form some long gone workmate of mine, ha ha). I now know that I can't go 7 weeks without an injection, and I won't, ever again.

Oh my goodness! Im glad that wait is over. I have a lurking fear that i will have to abuse myself with the same wait at some point to "prove" something. I think if i had to wait that long at this point it could be deadly. I hope i (and no one!) ever has to wait and find out what waiting can do. I am curious for the results of your labs!

Thanks! Maybe it's part psychological but I felt better by morning. Still going to take it easy but definitely a big difference already. It's my body said "Thanks, dumbass." Ha ha.

So I got these numbers back:

B12: 660 pg/mL232 - 1,245 pg/mL

Folate: >20.0 ng/mL>4.7 ng/mL

Homocysteine, Serum: 6.8 umol/L<15.1 umol/L

CBC + DIFF isn't back yet.

I had taken Oral B12 and some Folate a couple days before. The B12 was 5000 mcg but the B12 still went down from the last number (778) and from > 2000 from July 31 (just before I stopped injecting).

I definitely feel a LOT better than I did yesterday.
