The copy of the letter from the neuro consultant states " reflexes were normal except the ankle jerks were just elicitable with reinforcement. Planters were down going." Any idea what this might indicate? I need to be on board with all this when I have my appointment with my GP next month. What has happened to the GP services? I used to at least get an appointment within a week now its about 5-6 weeks. Maybe they are hoping patients will either get worse and go to A&E or get better?

It sounds normal. I think the referral to just elicitable means your ankles were slower ti respond but did with a second go??? I fretted over a similar comment my knee jerks were over active . When u asked about it the response was they were normal. That is a long wait till see a Gp. Try ringing on the day if that is possible. Or get a telephone appointment . It's horrible not fully understanding a neurologist report. I had my brain MRI handed to me by Gp. Wouldn't comment on it as there were a few abnormalities. The waiting time see the neurologist was 18-20 weeks!! I couldn't wait that long to know what it meant. I paid to see a neurologist to get it read and explained. At that time worth every penny to stop worrying. When my NHS appointment did come through. He said what mright scan. Had no notes or report! !! It was done on the NHS. I handed him my copy

Hope you can reduce that wait to find out exactly what it means from a doctor.
