I had several episodes of being sick before my B12D was diagnosed. Usually after a fish and chips or one time at a summer BBQ. These episodes also had severe cramping in my stomach due to too much grease. It turned out in my case to be gall stones. These episodes lasted until my gall bladder was removed.
The gall stones were from cholesterol buildup due to the B12 deficiency.
I have Lupus and a few other autoimmune diseases that tag along I am on Sulfasalazine I had sepsis a year ago and following that I had a lot of infections so my Rheumatoid Specialist halved my dose thinking that perhaps my immune system had gone too low
I have not had any infection of such for months but this sickness I am due to see him in a week so see what he says
Oh dear - that sounds a lot to cope with. Are there any natural remedies that could helo to soothe ? Have you considered trying gluten free - which may help to reduce gut inflammation ?
If you feel better from not eating bread it may be worth considering removing other gluten containing foods. I think we have had the thyroid discussion in other posts haven't we ? Low VitD is also linked to auto-immunity - more and more being published on the subject. If you are low in iron it would seem you have an absorption issue so more than likely you have low VitD. Have you had a full iron profile done - or was it just the Ferritin ? ( stored iron )
Slippery Elm I have seen mentioned - not used it myself. In spite of having
Crohns for over 50 years my stomach seems strong and the gut is reasonably well behaved - well the bit that is left ! No gall-bladder either ! I have Hashimotos and a B12 Deficiency due to surgery ... I do not take any medication other than for the thyroid and try to watch the things I eat. I was gluten free for many years and now I can occasionally eat some without an upset.
