Having difficulty with current MD.... stated that level of 168 was normal; which was my first level years ago, as well as high MMA. He will not listen and would not restart B-12 due to a level of 2000 in October 2018. On visit several months ago; would not discuss my questions, and said we were going to address the issue at hand. (Urinary infection)..
Now, I am having itching, some numbness and tingling...occasional tingling of the tonque, fatigue etc. Has anyone else had the itching? By the way, I am seeing a new physician this coming week, and hope he is willing to listen to me. I am disappointed that many physicians aren't up to date on B-12. I also have back pain in the upper back, Vitamin D deficiency, magnesium deficieny, gluten intolerant, gerd, hypothyroid, RA, osteoarthritis, osteopenia.
In January, B-12 level dropped to the eight hundreds, and he said I would have enough b-12 in his lifetime! What a jerk! Now I am 7 months without B-12....Thoughts please

Urinary infection is most likely due to low B12 and suppressed immune response.
I went through the whole battery to tests including STD tests, at the GUM clinic where everyone is under 30 and only get called by number to protect privacy, a systoscopy (sp?) to only get diagnosed with UTI of unknown cause. In the end, the urologist said, you wouldn’t have believed me at the start, but drinking orange juice is your best friend. The acid is the OJ cleans out calcium buildup in thr plumbing where the UTI bacteria like to live. (i.e. get rid of their home, you get rid of them.)
An antibiotic should sort of the UTI and get B12 supplements started while you fight with your idiot doctors.
Are you supplementing with folic acid and a daily multivitamin?
Since I am going to request blood work, I am not supplementing anything but D and Magnesium at this point. Wow, I haven't had orange juice in years because of the Gerd, but would love to have some. This Doc didn't even respond to me regarding the urine culture. I have lost all faith in him and his office. First urinary infection took them 6 days to prescribe medicine only after they learned that I came and picked up my labs. They didn't call me regarding the results, only notification from the pharmacy that I had a prescription ready. I have been very cold as well, and have to get the TSH done as well.
UTI is the first symptom for me as well without any classic b12 symptoms. I was keep on prescribed antibiotics as they noticed inflammation in urine. Then after 1 month the classic symptoms began leading to giving blood numerous times and found nothing and given antidepressants. Finally I have to become doctor my self and diagnose pernicious anemia after reading Internet relating my symptoms. It is already 6 months when the initial symptoms and the first injection started. Even now doctors don’t believe I need regular b12 injections. It is crazy to explain them and they are about to ask me get out(giving a look like am a doctor or you) if I show all the links given in this forum.
