2 weeks since last B12 injection and I feel awful

Hello! I have a follow-up question. I went with 5 weeks of weekly B12 injections and I started to feel better. My doctor now started me on monthly injections after my B12 levels went from 200 to 1260 within that 5 week period. I noticed that right about the 2 week mark after my last injection, symptoms of joint pain (mainly in my back and hips), leg numbness, fatigue, dizziness and vision issues started to arise and have gotten progressively worse over the past few days. I have a doctors appointment scheduled in a few hours and I am thinking about requesting getting back on weekly injections. Other than that I am unsure what I should do. The pins and needles haven’t started nor has the breathing troubles as of yet but it appears that my symptoms are progressing the same way as it initially did. I have been taking B12 vitamin pills and liquid under the tongue daily over the past 5 weeks. I just ordered B12 patches to try too. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Questions I should ask my doctor? Thank you!

A follow up since my appointment: I convinced my doctor to start weekly B12 injections again. At least for another month. With all the neurological symptoms I have I am surprised that we were not more aggressive at first. I think I should have had B12 injections daily for the first week. I guess each doctor may have their own views on this. I also have an appointment with a neurologist and another to have a colonoscopy. I’m 47 so I would begin with this at 50 anyway. I’m trying to be vigilant and rule out other causes or possibly expose the underlying cause.

It happens all the time unfortunately, the experimenting with doses. Your body told you very well though, that you need a shot at least every two weeks! Great that you got weekly ones again, and relatively soon! (I had to wait for almost a year and changed GPs and self-inject.)

Thank you! The support of everyone on this forum really helps. I think my doctor thinks that these added B12 shots are probably a waste of time now that my levels are up. My thinking is that how can it hurt much if I’m wrong. First diagnosis from her was that I was stressed and I should be on anti-depressants (Zoloft). I had to explain to her that I do believe that people need these medications. I may need them at some point but that is not why I’m feeling this way. To her credit she listened. I will fill everyone in with the results of my latest injection. Thanks again!
