Feeling hopeful!

Firstly, thank you for the support last week. After a very worrying weekend that included visits to both our local casualty department and the out of hours GP, the breathlessness is being caused by fluid build up in his lungs and he has Ferosemide tablets to help that.

Yesterday an appointment with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner was for the results of some of the blood tests - folate is low. We have a further appointment on Friday to monitor potassium etc due to the diuretic and for the rest of the results.

Hubby is feeling a bit better already - just really tired and feels that we have found someone who is willing to listen and who has a bit of knowledge (or is willing to find out!)

It appears that NHS Grampian has a good patient leaflet on B12 deficiency! Would have been useful four months ago!

I'm on weekly b12 injections now and on a trial of 10mg amitriptyline. My remaining symptoms are hissing head. Fatigue but nor exhaustion now. Vision still a strain as is light and noise sensitivity. So although better than I was still cant read a book . Get ridiculously weary after normal housework. I think I will come off the amytriptyline unless persuaded is good long term time keep migrains away and settle brain. Seeing doctor tomorrow. So frustrating I can't do stuff as I used to for my mum and youngest daughter . Thank you very much for asking. The B12 regime really helped me turn a corner. Do hope your husband makes steady progress. Very difficult to navigate the health system.
