Hi Amth.

So sorry to hear you're struggling.

Have you had the loading doses?

Yes, I did all of a sudden get dizzy spells but didn't know why.

Zero energy levels, just couldn't be bothered with anything & when I did, I'd be exhausted after doing small tasks I used to just get on with before going onto the next.

My moods were terrible, one minute I'd be fine, then really angry about nothing at all!!

I was diagnosed last year with B12 & Folate deficiency & PA.

The every 3 month injections in UK just weren't enough for me so I started to self inject as many do on here. Though I feel like a hypocondriac, my symptoms are starting to ease, some going altogether.

Hi Ritchie

Thank you for your reply yes I had my 3 monthly shot last week I’m on folate tablets also just feel like as you say everything is an effort lately I was trying to joke it off and say it was because of the weather we are having but I’ve been seriously low and wanting to request a brain scan !!! Extreme I know but I’m worried about myself forget things minutes after they happen and need a pad next to my phone to take notes

Come back in 2 weeks if it hasn’t completely gone was given tablets that absolutely zonked me out times I just feel like giving up and then they can say we should have listened

Have you thought about self injecting?

I was only diagnosed last year but after keeping a diary, found I felt better for 2 days only after my 3 monthly injections.

Since regularly injecting now I am starting to see a difference.

Self injecting is a good idea.

I get hideous vertigo and low mood if my folate levels drop. I see you are on tablets for that so do you have regular tests to see if they are doing the job?

The other thing to consider: is your body able to use the folic acid? Mine isn't and I must have methylfolate for it to do any good. Methylfolate tablets are available online and in health food stores.

A very few people don't tolerate methylfolate and need folinic acid.

If this isn't the answer don't give up - there are other possibilities.

You may find taking a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement may help.

Hi Amth. I'm so sorry to hear this. I just feel you're not getting nearly enough jabs. Once done with my loading doses, I went to one a week. I was lucky because my docs let me decide what I needed. I then went to twice a week, but told my docs that I was spending 2 days a week with symptoms. I now inject every other day and feel so much better. I hope you have a great doc who really listens and you get the doses you need.
