Leg weakness?

I have had my loading dose and am six months into treatment but I am noticing I have fits and spurts of my legs not quite doing what I want them to do. I have always been a little clumsy but this is definitely getting worse. I am 28 and relatively fit and healthy. Is there anyone else out there with this? Or any solutions?

Hi

I get terrible leg aches & notice that my legs shake a lot when I walk down stairs or down any steps.

My leg aches are improving now though since I started getting regular injections.

When you say you have had your loading doses do you mean you have moved onto three monthly injections?

I also had leg weakness with poor co ordination I kept up with alternate day injections until that went and then moved onto less frequent jabs. I still inject 2-3xs weekly as other wise my tremors return. I am 6 months into treatment.

Maybe you need more frequent injections.

Yes I have moved onto three monthly injections. Fab. I was wondering if that was something that could happen.

In the days prior to doing my own jabs, I just couldn’t climb stairs, and had to lift my legs into the car, the next day the legs could be fine, apart from being able to knock into any door frame or fall over anything that threw itself into my way... I’m guessing that you weren’t offered every other day injections until there was no further improvement as things are getting worse. There are some exceptional administrators on this site who will advise you. For me the Pernicious Anaemia Society has been an amazing source of information and advice. Just wanted to let you know many of us can relate to your symptoms and are now good thanks to our friends on this forum!

Thank you for your advice. I have joined the PA and am looking forward to meeting them. The nurse at the surgery I am at is fighting my corner too.

Yes the PA Society are a great help. I ended up buying my own jabs am afraid as its taken GP 6 months to agree to alternate day jabs....& two further months on still waiting fot the script as theyre struggling to track down syringes!!! Sigh.... Dont like to think what Id be like if Id waited for them to sort my meds out!!!
