I wonder if anyone on here has seen a specialist in the field of B12 in particular caused by PA? My very kind Mum has offered to pay for me to see one and she has found aConsultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, although Hepatology would not relate to me, I have no idea if this is going in the right direction. Unsure if a haematologist would be a better bet. Anyone have any experience of this? Thank you x ps I live near Portsmouth, Hampshire

My experience with experts has been variable.
My haematologist was a total waste of space who was only interested in telling me that he was an expert.
My gastroenterologist didn’t know much about PA. Luckily his registrar did (she was the one who first suspected that might be my problem) and he was keen to learn.
My first neurologist admitted he wasn’t sure about my neuropathy and referred me to an expert. He knew a hell of a lot about PA (and the first neurologist was keen on getting me to explain everything).
So it’s obviously very variable.
