I'm on every other hydroxocobalamin b12 injections. I'm having some symptoms ice had before. Headaches and heavy feeling in body vision down light sensitivity. Ect. No where near as bad as after first loading doses .
New symptom 5 hours after injection us a bloodshot eye? Has anyone else had this. I was thinking maybe be due to blood pressure going up post injections?

Oh I thought it did for everyone. I'm sure I've read it does? Couldn't think of what other reason I have a bloodshot eye. My eye problems seem to be the most slow to improve
Nackapan , JanD236 , pollianna ...IM B12 injections do not usually cause high blood pressure.
High blood pressure can occur when high doses of vitamin B12 are given for cyanide poisoning. This is because the B12 is given via 500/1000ml IV infusions: the additional large volume of fluids can cause excess fluid in the blood system (hypervolemia), which may result in increased blood pressure.
Low B12 or B12 deficiency can be associated with elevated levels of homocysteine and this is associated with high blood pressure. In this sense, treating B12 deficiency lowers homocysteine...and this, in turn, can lower blood pressure (when it's caused by high levels of homocysteine). So...B12 injections are more likely to lower blood pressure than raise it.
Nackapan - blood shot eyes occur when the blood vessels on the surface of the eyes expand. This can have a number of causes (allergies, air pollution, smoke, dry air, dust) or be caused by common eye conditions (dry eyes, eye allergies, contact lenses, digital eye strain etc.).
Other causes: Eye infections, injury to eye, inflammatory condition (I.e. uveititis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye - uvea), corneal ulcer etc.).
So...one symptom of B12 deficiency - dry eyes - could be a cause (especially if you’ve been rubbing your eyes)...also possibly allergy or infection....and so on.
If it doesn't settle down, you get a discharge from your eyes, have changes to your vision (for instance, blurred vision is worse than usual), or you get eye pain (over and above that already discussed with your optician), suggest you see your optician again (or GP). Or perhaps consult pharmacist who can give further advice (as it's the weekend).
If your eyes start to feel much worse (as above), or you’re worried, eye casualties (at larger hospitals) are always happy to examine eyes and investigate.
Placing pads soaked in cold water on the eyes sometimes help (shrinks expanded blood vessels on the surface of the eyes).
Ok off to Optician anyway this morni g to collect stronger prescription glasses. Will ask for eye to be looked at. Thank you for information regarding blood pressure.
