Low b12 (150) currently 3 monthly injections, low iron (not anemic) low vitiam D. I won’t even go on to list the symptoms Ive been having over the last 6 months. I’ll be here all night, what’s going on?

Why I’m I running on empty? I’m not a vegan veggie, anyone else been through this?

Hi Shannonf247 if it neurological symptoms you are not listing it may be that you are "entitled" to have your B12 injections every eight weeks according to the N.I.C.E. guidelines.

Ask your doctor to increase frequency as many on here find themselves needing to do including myself.

to add to clive's response. PA is an auto-immune problem affecting the gut. Whilst its primarily associated with problems absorbing B12 it can also affect absorption of other vitamins and minerals, notably iron and folate.

The effect of PA on the absorption of B12 is particularly significant as the mechanism that allows most B12 to be absorbed is very specific. Diet is going to be irrelevant in relation to maintaining serum B12 levels if you have PA. Quite likely that 3 months just isn't frequent enough for you. Significant numbers of people need to maintain very high B12 levels after loading shots and serum B12 really can't be used to manage B12 levels post loading shots - symptoms are much more significant.

Suggest you keep a diary of symptoms and when they return in relation to B12 shots.

I’m still waiting on my antibodies results coming back, I know how unreasonable that is though. My iron was fine back in August now it’s a ferritin levels of 8, low vit D has came out of nowhere, I’m gonna request more tests. As I thought getting treatment for one thing would fix everything more symptoms have came about, which all cause the same things. So it’s hard to tell them apart, thanks for the help though x
