B12 injections and menopause

A question for the ladies. Have any ladies who are post menopause found that b12 injections have made you hormonal again? I started injections in June and have had menopausal symptoms again, they had previously ceased. I'm wondering if this is from the injections. Thank you

what symptoms are you talking about?

I can't say I noticed B12 making any menopausal symptoms worse - quite the opposite, providing I was getting enough B12.

40% of PA sufferers will go on to develop hashimotos (autoimmune thyroidosis) so that would be a possibility to look into eg if you are experiencing problems with 'hot flushes/regulating temperature).

Lack of B12 can also produce a false menopause but if that was the case then you would start menstrating again as well and sounds like that isn't the case.

Thanks for your reply. I am definitely post menopause and this was confirmed by 2 blood tests. I never used HRT. I have found an increase in migraines, swollen breasts, fluid retention, weepy, low mood and get quite angry. The migraine is the last to appear, then all the others gofor a couple of weeks then it all starts again. It's actually feeling the low mood, weepy and angry that concerns me as I never had them while going through the menopause.

unfortunately being post menopausal doesn't necessarily mean that hormone levels don't continue oscillating - I had hormonal migraines and they are still continuing.

Would your GP be up to referring you to a well woman clinic.

Weirdly I've starting having injections for the first time, and for the first time in ages I've been getting hot flushes. Thought it was because I have a virus. Maybe it's all coincidental, who knows, but I've been a bit baffled by it all. Maybe there's a yet undiscovered link here? Wish you well x

This is interesting. I'll need to ask my gp if there's a connection. Hope you feel better soon
