Feeling tried, foggy, shaky and periods of disjointed thoughts. Is my doc right not to treat?

I feel exactly like you at the moment, read my last post earlier this week after seeing a hospital consultant !! Lots of people like us and seems all of us just want the same, a doctor who understands our problem. Good Luck. 😄

What is your doctor waiting for?

Go back and demand to be treated hey.nhs.uk/wp/wp-content/up...

Ask if a person with high HbA1c would have to wait before getting treated for diabetes.

My doc tells me my HB has dropped by the equivalent of 3 units of blood since summer but won't transfuse unless HB drops to 8..in the meantime struggling with day to day chores. Thanks for all your thoughts and support

Wants to wait and see if you become seriously unwell ? Outrageous! Good advice from fbirder . Follow it .

I’m sure that fbirder , if he accompanied us to our docs , could get us the treatment we need ! He could argue, armed with his scientific knowledge .Could we hire you, fbirder , please ?!

I can’t promise that I wouldn’t keep my temper. I nearly lost it when I saw the idiot haematologist.

You really should be referred to a hematology/oncology department. With results like that. Go back and demand attention. Wishing you all the luck you want.

I’ve been exactly where you are when my GP finally referred me to a haematologist, who after seeing me wrote a letter back to the GP accusing them of neglect. They also said I was at very high risk of a heart attack. Which you will be too! What are your iron and ferritin store readings? As you may need an iron infusion, not a blood transfusion. The ONLY thing your GP is right about is they won’t authorise blood transfusions until you are 8 and below. But you may not need that. Hope this helps and essentially my advice is keep going in until they fix you. Don’t let them fob you off! Good luck!

Trouble is when your engine is running on crap fuel the enthusiasm to stand up for yourself is lost. This doc missed my appendicitis. Appendix removed 9am next day just in time. The other doctor missed my pneumonia last Nov. Spent 9 nights in hospital on iv antibiotics. It's like hitting head against wall. I'm almost 63 and I've pretty much given up. I've started injecting B12 (brought online) and like the doctor I will have to wait and see what happens to HB.
