Hi I am currently having b12 injections every other day. How do I get a prescription to have injections when on holiday.

where are you going? B12 injections are available from pharmacies without prescription in some countries.

may be worth putting that in the title of your post just in case there is anyone who knows what the regime is in Italy - I'm afraid I don't.

If you get your injections from the GP and they are willing to give you a prescription then you could get that filled before you go but you should speak to the travel agent about arrangements for allowing you to take the phials on a flight.

Hi! I had this exact scenario happen to me this summer, as I was going to France for almost 3 weeks right after starting injections every other day for neurological symptoms. In the end my GP agreed to have the nurse teach me to self inject and to prescribe me the B12, needles, syringes, and sharps box for my trip, as well as giving me a written prescription for the above for Customs. I had to push the GP to make it happen (and to even start treatment, but that's another story), but it was definitely worth it. Self injecting was/is easy, and the added bonus was I just kept feeling better and better as the trip progressed. This has carried on now that I am home as it is much more convenient than going into the surgery every other day for a shot. You can always ask the GP what they suggest if you are going abroad, and ask if they are not willing to teach you to self inject, what they recommend while traveling. Good Luck!!

Thanks for this. They have already told me they will not reach me but are prepared to let me visit for every other day shots. It was really how to get prescription and someone to inject when abroad. I will talk to the travel nurse at the surgery. Thanks for your posts.
