Does anyone need more frequent injections in the heatwave?

I'm just wondering whether B12 is 'used up' quicker when it is so extremely hot. I usually inject hydroxo every other day. Thanks!

I can’t think of any reason why one might need more. Indeed, I missed my Monday injection this week (I inject Mondays and Thursdays) and didn’t notice it.

Thanks. I used to get so cold before I started injections, and I know it takes a lot of energy to keep us warm... So maybe we don't use so much when it is warm. But I was deficient for years before starting treatment and I wonder about the damage to my thernoregulation.

Yes , my husband defiantly wilts in the heat . Heat depleats b12 . I make sure he paces himself energy wise and keeps cool and keeps hydrated . Take care

Thanks. I feel like my body is using up energy to try to stay cool so that would deplete B12. I also worry about whether being deficient for years damaged my thermo regulation system.

Yes, I'm sure it does - it makes sense.

Lots of B12d people report poor thermoregulation and mine is so bad that temperature extremes scare me.

A lot of my work is outdoors which I prefer but I have had to develop a portfolio of indoor jobs to do too just so I can keep working and stay alive.

It makes sense - for farming I was taught that most terrestrial living organisations function best at 65F, and you need to be between about 50F and 70F for optimum growing conditions.

I think the modern version is 10C to 20C with an optimum of 18C.

That's why things grow so well in the spring and autumn but die back in the summer and winter.

If its good for grass it's good for us!!

Outside of these ranges cellular function is compromised and if it's already compromised due to B12d and related problems, we're going to extra suffer!

If you are running at the lower end of your B12 and supporting supplements then you will notice more that you aren't at optimum functioning because of the double compromise.

Make sure you have plenty of all your vitamins and minerals plus fluid to take them around your body to all your cells and try to keep as near to optimum temperature as possible!

Thermoregulation happens as a result of nerves sending responses to the brain and back. Long term B12d damages nerves... It also damages physical bodily functionality if cells are depleted for too long and don't replicate properly.

I'll be thinking of you too!

I hope you don't mind but I think I will post this as a main topic!

Thank you - I think it is important in a country like the UK where we don't have widespread climate control in buildings. I will increase my injections to daily for a while and see how I get on.

I'm certainly feeling more tingley (hands and legs) when outside in heat, but not noticed any other symptoms worsening.
