Back Pain

Hi there - I jarred my back 4 weeks ago and was just getting twinges. 9 days ago I was diagnosed with PA and have had 3 loading doses of B12 - due for next on Weds. Yesterday I was vomiting for most of the day and I now have excruciating back pain - finding it hard to move. I've read that increased pain levels can be a good sign - I do hope so!!

Hi juanacalpe I'm sorry to read of your pain.

Was your Folate level tested when you got your P.A. Diagnosis?

It is true that some neurological symptom may appear to "get worse" before they improve but with vomiting and excruciating back pain I think you need to go back and see your doctor before Wednesday.

I am not a medically trained person but have had P.A for 46 years.

Hi clivealive - I'm not sure about folate tests - I've had regular thrombaphilia tests since having dvt 6 years ago and this how my haeomotologist picked up the B12, so I assume folate was ok. I will ask him in December when I next see him. If I get no relief soon i will go to A&E. Thanks
