Hi Hanna , do you take folic acid every day , it is needed with frequent injections at high dose , also other co factors help . Also you need to have your ferritin level checked as level needs to be at least 60 when on injections . Hope someone more knowledgeable helps you soon , take care .

Hello Annnon, I am very interested in what you say about levels of Ferritin. When last measured mine was 12, I was prescribed iron. Have you got any source material for the level of 60 that you give? It would be good to have some ammunition if my levels haven’t increased at my next blood test. Many thanks.

Hi Kazania , I got the info of ideal ferritin level from the home fasebook group pernicious anemea / b 12 deficiency support group , they are a closed group so if you join the info is in their files . They can also explain why you need to have the level of 60 + to help you with b12 getting to cell level much better than I can , also other co factors such as folic acid etc. . Best of luck and I wish you well .

😊 thank you so much Annnon. I’ll have a look. The more knowledge the better, as we get no help from the medics. Thanks for your good wishes too and the same to you. I am much better since I started additional self-injections. So your info was most interesting. Many thanks again and keep well.

There are over 80 causes of peripheral neuropathy. Are you sure that yours is caused by B12?

With that sort of treatment I’d be surprised if it were.

Go see a neurologist and get everything checked.

Hi Muttilina , sorry you have pA . My husband does too . This forum is brilliant but I find Pernicious anemea / b12 deficiency support group ( fasebook homepage ) excellent also , you need to answer 2 simple questions to join . It’s a free , closed group with amazing advice .good luck

P.s . I’m no expert but wondering if Hydroxy is better than methyl ? Also IM injections sometimes work better than sub cut for some people .
