I presume that the 20,000 is methyl?
I find that if I take 2x 800 mcg, three times a day, I get a better result than taking all 4.8 mg at once.
Start will 800 mcg. Do not take more than 5 mg per day.
It is balance between B12 and Folic Acid. If I get too much folic acid, I get thumping in my ears when I turn my head. I self inject 1ml cyano weekly that I also split half on Monday and half on Thursday. I finf this regime has evened out the roller coaster ride.
Do you keep a logbook of symptoms along with all foods, drink and meds?
Taking a lot of B12 has no impact, whatsoever, on the body’s requirements for folate.
Stick with 400 mcg a day.
Fbirder I was under the assumption based on many posts here that greatly increasing intake levels of B12 reduced levels of folate. Is that incorrect?
I find anywhere from 5mg to 7 mg per day in divided doses works best for me. It depends on the person though. I can tell I’m not getting enough when I become breathless. There is an excellent Facebook group - Pernicious Anemia where the admins and ppl have tons of experience and provide great advice.
