How are you intending to inject.I M

Or

SC ?

Have you been having B12 injections?

If you use the search icon .

Plenty of posts on this .

I do sc

27-30G needle suitable

I use 30G 1/2 " long

A 21G to draw up b12

A 2ml syringe

Alcohol wipes not essential but I use them.

A sharps box

I also got a device to snap the ampoule not essential but useful.

Snapit

The nurse uses a blue 23 G 1" long for IM

Some use 25G 1"

Hope you get on OK 👍

I buy mine from medisave . There are many suppliers

No Nackapan. I'm a learner. Sublingual have helped me but want to see if injections will work better for me as I don't do absorb well .

So I buy separate needles + syringes for taking up the liquid and another for the injection? Is that right? I intend to do it in my thigh muscle.

Only seperate needle . Same syringe .First ever b12 injection should be done in a clinical setting .

Nurses never do them without a doctor on duty incase of the event of an anaphylaxis reaction.

Everdean, what was your b12 level before any injections?

Has a medical professional trained you at least once? if not find one who will.

I use the BD alcohol swabs

25G, 1" for Intra muscular injections. docs recommended 1.5 inch length but I am 5'5" 120lbs. so 1inch is fine.

Others prefer to do subcutaneous injections, but I am not familiar with that.

Have you been to your pharmacy to inquire about insulin needles? Your best bet is to speak to your pharmacist and ask for 6mm ultra fine insulin syringes which are.1ml dosage. You can buy it in bulk. You will also need a sharps bin to dispose once used. You also need medical alcohol skin cleansing swabs which is purchased in bulk also. With all this you should be ready to begin your self injecting journey. If you have a fear of needles you may purchase a numbing cream and apply this first. Only the beginning is scary but, trust me, you won’t even think about it once you have perfected the art of self injecting.

Best of luck with the process.

It’s an insulin needle but you use your B12 in it instead. I use Methylcobalamin B12. You can ask your pharmacist as to what type of B12 they have. Here in Australia I buy the Hydroxocobalamin from the pharmacy over the counter and I use this as well. I inject into the fatty layer on my stomach and it’s very easy to do and there is no need to rely on a nurse or doctor.
