High SGGT

My test result taken on 6th April sowed my SGGT was 141 Yes that's not an error. I see the range is up to 35 so am left wondering why my doctors phoned me on receipt of the results to ask me to make a 'routine appointment'. Surely something's going wrong, I've been feeling very ill for months now.

I'd appreciative any helpful feedback.

souix2 - you really need to talk to your doctor about the test result - there are a number of things that could cause the high level.

labtestsonline.org/tests/ga...

An elevated GGT level suggests that a condition or disease is damaging the liver but does not indicate specifically what. In general, the higher the level, the greater the damage to the liver. Elevated levels may be due to liver diseases, such as hepatitis or cirrhosis, but they may also be due to other conditions, such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, or pancreatitis. They may also be caused by alcohol abuse or use of drugs that are toxic to the liver.
