Hi, I've not posted for a while but I was diagnosed with b12 of 131 five months ago after seeing my GP with neurological symptoms. Ihad six loading injections and three months later my b12 was at 431 - is that about what you would expect? I imagined it would be higher. Folate is normal as was homocysteine and MMA. I am PA negative.
Also, food for thought for any of you experience nerve pain in hands and feet, shooting pains as well. I have just been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy which is characterised by pain more than numbness and tingling though both are present. My neurological symptoms never improved after loading. I think caused by b12 deficiency but my neurologist is not sure. Its been a long and exhaustive process of eliminating other diseases, as it always is in neurology but I am just wondering whether more people than is presently reaslise are suffering from this, possibly as a result of b12 deficiency? I feel too much of a coincidence in my case. My message is keep pressing and pushing for answers. A struggle I know.
