5mg is the max folic acid you should take so be careful going forward.
You may try spreading the folic acid intake throughout the day. I take my 4.8 mg as 3 dosages of 2x 800 mcg tablets morning, noon and night. This help supply a more continuous amount.
Why are you not on B12 injections ?
If you have an issue of recycling B12 in your gut/hepatic loop, then taking supplements may do no good as they all go down the toilet.
What tests has you Dr done? IF antibody, parietal cells?
My wife swears by coconut oil (mainly for weight loss) but I’m still a bit reluctant so I’d like to know more.
