Hi,

I am not medically trained.

Some links that may be of interest

B12 and Pregnancy

Maybe useful info in following books

Not sure what country you are in but if you're in UK, probably worth looking at following B12 articles.

If you're not in UK, may be worth trying to track down any national/regional b12 guidelines for B12 deficiency.

I have found the B12 shot has greatly changed my periods, which could help with fertility. however I do take extra folic acid and iron too which also seem to help.

Hi again,

I also wondered if you had had recent results for folate, ferritin (or other iron results) and full blood count (FBC), known as Complete Blood Count (CBC) in USA.

Do you get copies of all your blood test results? Access to medical records/test results can be invaluable in knowing what investigations have been carried out.

I learnt to always get copies of blood test results after being told that everything was normal and then finding abnormal and borderline results on the copies. These days I only accept being told things are "normal" if I've seen results myself.

Some of following links may be upsetting due to mention of difficulties with pregnancy.

PA is an auto-immune disease. Having one auto-immune condition may increase chances of developing another.

I hope doctors have excluded possibility of other auto-immune conditions especially those that may influence fertility in your case. I have read posts in past on forum where thyroid disease, diabetes and coeliac disease are mentioned.

Thyroid Disease

It's not uncommon for people on this forum to also have thyroid problems.

I would suggest putting any thyroid results on Thyroid UK forum on HU. In UK, doctors often only test TSH which will not give a full picture of thyroid function.

thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/t...

Article below mentions influence of Thyroid function on conception and pregnancy.

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/resear...

Coeliac disease and fertility (Coeliac spelt Celiac in USA).

coeliac.org.uk/coeliac-dise...

Above link mentions that in UK, anyone with unexplained subfertility should be tested for Coeliac disease.

If in UK, may be helpful to look at NICE guidelines Coeliac Disease (2015 version).

nice.org.uk/guidance/ng20/c...

If not in UK, may be worth tracking down national or regional guidelines on Coeliac disease.

Due to pattern of my symptoms, I asked my doctors to exclude possibility of lupus and Hughes Syndrome (also known as Antiphospholipid Syndrome, APS).

A search for "B12 deficiency infertility " had links including one that linked high homocysteine with potential infertility. High homocysteine levels may result from B12 deficiency.

I send you my good wishes for your treatment.

May be worth joining and talking to PAS about fertility and PA.
