Just diagnosed limited symptoms

Can I request shots before I get ill? I’m keen to avoid feeling any more symptoms even if levels aren’t at a dangerous point ? Great to know thoughts of what others have done and how long they take to work?

When you were diagnosed were you not offered shots?

how were you diagnosed?

are you a vegan? or someone who eats very little meat/fish/dairy/egg?

If answer to the above is no then the problem isn't dietary and you should be started on treatment rather than managed on the basis of falling B12 levels and development of further symptoms - in particular the lack of any signs of macrocytosis doesn't mean you are okay as 25% of people with B12 deficiency present without this as a symptom.

Unfortunately responses to B12 are very individual so it isn't possible to say how long symptoms will take to clear.

If you have P.A. as stated on your other post you should already be having B12 injections

I was tested and shown to carry it (grandmother and mother have it) in 2015. It’s come up again as part of other blood tests recently . I assume it is showing I should be able to have the shots then. Thanks will tell my GP.
