Hi

iv had a slight pea sized purple lunp on the shaft of my penis for quite some time now I originally thought it was a burst blood vessel but it will not disappear or even slightly go down.

Can anyone please tell me what it is?

Cleaver01. This forum deals with pernicious anaemia and the B12 deficiency it causes so not the best place to be for advice about this.

Any unexplained lumps are best dealt with by a qualified medical practitioner so I echo CarrieD2018 's advice...please go and see your GP about this.

Good luck.

This could be Syphilis if you have had sex with someone other than a regular and exclusive partner. Go and see your doctor at once. I have pasted a description of the initial stages below. This is a site for Pernicious anaemia and so you are well off-subject - so this thread needs to be terminated.

"The primary stage of syphilis typically begins with a sore (called a "chancre") on the area of your body that was initially exposed to the infection—usually the genitals, rectum, or mouth. The sore has been described as feeling like a button: firm, round, usually measuring half an inch across, and not tender to the touch. Swelling of the lymph nodes in the groin may also occur, but the nodes are not usually tender.

Infected individuals do not usually feel ill in the primary stage of syphilis, and the chancre heals spontaneously after four to six weeks. Don't be fooled when this occurs, though. It doesn't mean the infection has cleared up. Even though there are no obvious signs at this stage, syphilis continues to spread throughout the body."
