This isn't specifically PA related but it does show that there are GPs out there who are trying to influence and improve the guidelines and move them away from overly relying on test results.

Thanks for link which I saw yesterday.
While it is encouraging that some GPs are considering moving from box ticking to actually listening to and observing symptoms in order to help patients and thereby improving/changing guidelines, we are still a very long way away from this happening and I fear very little change will occur.
It would take a monumental "push", turnaround for such a positive change to occur. I, like many others no doubt, would love to see this change sooner rather than later.
The Thyroid UK forum has always been about symptoms and ignoring the disgraceful diagnostic skills and treatment by the medical profession - it is about being optimal rather than bumping along the bottom of the range ....

Thanks Marz for this.... If it was not related to such a debilitating health situation it would be hilarious! However it is a true exemple of how patients are treated by ignorant but nevertheless power hungry doctors who cannot bear to be shown the level of their ignorant by knowledgeable and very aware suffering patients.
Thanks Marz, I feel a little bit nauseous after watching this due to the accuracy
As I think I posted elsewhere, I was told by a GP that even if someone was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disorder there was no treatment.
I'd like to pass the link on to a doctor, but the patient's costume means they probably won't watch it - don't quite get the reasoning there? Maybe just me being a bit thick?
Trying to be noticed - was my take on it 😊😊
I was diagnosed here in Crete with Hashimotos back in 2005. TFT's all in range - antibodies high. Scan revealed nodes and so treatment began. As Doc explained, taking T4 was to support the thyroid whilst under attack 😊 Made sense to me ! Don't think many GP's understand auto-immunity conditions - too complex needing individual treatmment plans.
I thought it was doctors seeing patients as objects and not real people. But think it could be misinterpreted...
