Hi, just wandering if anyone has some knowledge on folate acid levels.
After having a blood test I have been told I have a folic acid deficiency, and given 4 month supply of tablets. My results were 27.7 and 2.0. Does anyone know how low this is or if it's borderline?
I can only assume your Folate was 2.0. Your GP should be able to give you the lab results, if you ask. This should show the ranges allowable. Generally, 2 for Folate would be below minimum.
Taking supplements may help but if your diet is high then this should be investigated further.
As GGourmet has mentioned, ask the receptionist for a printout of your results. You are entitled to them. Also, you should have access to your medical records etc via internet of which blood results, with the ranges, should be available to you but you have to request this access in the first instance.
If your Folate was tested, there is a good chance your Vit B12 was checked too. Again, get a printout of the results then post them, with the ranges) on here
