As Gambit62 says, CRP is one of several non-specific inflammation marker tests used to determine whether there is inflammation in the body - but neither the CRP test or the other main non-specific inflammation marker test, the ESR test, which is often also done can specifically identify where the inflammation is or allow diagnosis of a specific condition.
If these tests indicate inflammation, then the next step is to do more specific tests.
A wonderful and reliable source of information on medical tests, and the tests available etc for specific conditions are the Lab Tests Online websites.
A US based website originally, Lab tests Online is used by many pathology labs throughout the world as their reference resource for more information for patients and medical professionals.
They also have a specific UK website and this is one of their pages for the CPR test
Me again. Since sending the above, I have read through your previous posts and note that you saw a neurologist at Guys Hospital for spinal pain etc. He did lots of tests including blood tests and told you that you had PA, and needed injections. These were started but then he told you that you did not have PA on the basis of another test or second round of tests.
Comments on your first post about this suggested that the second test or tests may have included the Intrinsic Factor antibodies test which came back negative.
Without knowing what tests had been done and their results, it is difficult to give more detailed advice and people suggested that you get copies of all test results done etc. In the comments, sleepybunny and 06hollyberry provided you with information on your rights to copies of all your medical records including test results.
