Increasing levels of b12 with spray & patches.

Hi, I've had another serum test back and the level is 520, my original level was 511 and I've been using 5000mcg patches and b12 boost spray 1200mcg every day for a month. Would my levels not be better than that if I didn't have an absorption problem? I'm trying to gather info to take back to my gp for when he tells me it isn't b12 causing my symptoms.

Values of 511 an 520 are, given the normal variation in the assay, the same. That would suggest that you're not absorbing the B12 from the spray, or the patches.

Ask for an MMA test.

Thanks. I'm waiting for results of MMA, my gp surgery now has them but no ones looked at it yet along with functional b12.
