I also used to find that things got worse as hormonal levels changed.
Sounds like you aren't actually getting the treatment you really need.
Have you tried keeping track of your symptoms generally - as well as in relation to menstal cycle to see when they actually start returning - if you have neuro symptoms then you should be on 2 monthly maintenance shots per NICE and BCSH guidelines.
I was keeping a diary before I started treatment and things always got bad in the run up but also at other times. I had some neuro symptoms which made me push for treatment and i haven't had any since just the mega tiredness and some palpitations in the last few days. My next jab is in a week so don't think I've done too badly. I did have a dip but pretty sure that was down to low folate as soon as I started supplementing everything improved again until now.
Good to know someone else noticed a dip around periods
Hell yeah. When I'm actually on I'm a total zombie I cannot function but have to push on through. All I want to do is sleep but at same time I'm so frustrated. My family don't understand and think I'm putting it on.
Also did anyone find there heavier/light?
I think that's one of the worst parts my other half doesn't seem to get it when I say I'm exhausted think he thinks I just feel a bit sleepy wish there was a way to make people feel the way you feel just for a minute so they could understand!
I have always had quite light periods since I started on the pill years ago but they are even lighter now to the point of hardly being there. I have found my pmt much worse since my b12 has been low especially my temper but started taking calcium supplements as i read this can help and it definitely seems to be making a difference.
HiI am exactly the same. I did read that lack of b12 causes low estrogen levels as well, so there's definitely a correlation. Improved b12 levels will also help symptoms during menstruation, heavy bleeding will deplete b12.
I've never managed to find a way to manage this, but at least knowing it will pass does help.
Good luck!
