just thinking that in the past about 8 years ago I had piles injected

could this have affected the absorption of b12 ?

No.

Absorption of B12 happens much, much higher up the gastrointestinal tract.

suresh786 I suspect that your piles were at the "bottom end" of the B!2 absorption cycle so would have no effect.
