Questions and a Little Life History

Hi Everyone,

So good to ask folks on here who know without trawling around the internet!

A couple of questions I hope you can help me with. Since starting a loading programme which is quite intense I have felt many improvements especially with my balance. Sadly this all went wrong this last week and I am struggling again .. Did not feel to good generally so am hoping it is down to the fact I have felt unwell with Nausea and upset Tummy? Is this just a blip ... ?

Hoping it is because I took Caprylic Acid Capsules to help clear the Itchy Eczema type rash on my face and elbows which I developed since starting SI. Fortunately that is clearing now so no more of them ... (Seems to be a side effect?)

A side affect of this horrible PA illness seems to be depression, anxiety and panic attacks and over the years I have had my share of them. Doctor's were always willing to treat those things and eventually put me on Thyroid replacement tabs as I was So "tired all the time" but PA was not discovered until a new Doctor tested me for it as he said it went hand in hand with low Thyroid Problems. Started 3 monthly injections approx 15 years ago ! I am now 66 I have felt steadily worse and worse and after nearly collapsing a few times and nearly fainting at the dentist I decided it was time to take control of my own life again! Nurses and doctors not good at our surgery and will probably not like it but I have nothing left to lose now and will tell them why I am not needing the 3 monthly jab from them anymore if they do ask!

Thank God for the internet and sites like this because I researched and read and had The Light Bulb moment and realised I have had PA since my late teens ...OMG!

Oh second Question ...I was taking a Supplement of Magnesium and Calcium but the Mag made me have a very bad tummy so now using Epsom Salts in the bath. Sadly since stopping my new lovely long strong nails are breaking again ... Do others take Calcium and in what way?

For your eczema: after I started B12 injections, I developed photosensitivity or an allergy to sunlight, or UV light. Mine initially appears as hives or itchy skin about 6 hours after exposure.

I now use an SPF70 or greater sunscreen and no longer get the eczema.

If I don't use the sunscreen then the spots of eczema flare right back up the next time they are exposed even for a few minutes.

Just a point regarding your tummy troubles and nausea . A gastroenterologist told me that P . A. patients have no or low stomach acid . (Achlorhydria and Hypochlorhydria ) This can lead to tummy problems like bloating ,burping ,tummy pain and nausea . I had this problem . Doctors will tell you that there is no treatment for it . I have overcome it by using a water- based probiotic called Symprove for 3 months at full dosage then for a couple on half dose . Also having a table spoon of raw organic sauerkraut daily The lack of stomach acid leads to production of bad bacteria which is usually dealt with by stomach acid . Some people use betaine hydrochloric acid capsules with pepsin .Also diluted organic cider vinegar I now don't need to take anything but the occasional pro -biotic capsule I have read that all fermented vegetables are good for the stomach flora .
