Needles and ouch!

well I have bought 21g and 23g needles 1ml syringes, so that's the kit bought... And b12 on the way... I got spooked when he said 23g was thicker and some folk prefer thinner needles... Are they going to really hurt then?

You would use the 23g needles for drawing the b12 in to the syringe and then swap to the 21g needle for injecting

I was advised that and thank god for here as I wouldn't have a clue.. So I bought the two lots... However, the guy sending them said customers did buy the blue and green ones, but other folk preferred thinner needles... I shall dream of foot long needles coming towards me tonight no doubt lol.. Shame I had to buy 100 as I might not like the whole experience or the needles may scare me re size... That's why I only bought 10 ampoules in case... Oh well... I wonder if I will look back at this and die of embarrassment about the drama of it all😅 x

Wrong way round. If you are going to mess about with two needles (totally unnecessary in my experience) you would use the 21g to load the syringe and the 23g to inject.

23g needles don't hurt at all.

they don't change at GP but it says so on the videos... 😊

The only valid reason I know of for changing the needle is that the point of the needle can be blunted if it is scraped on the inside of the ampoule while loading. A blunt needle can be painful when injecting. If you are careful there is no need to change the needle.

I use 25 needles as they are thinnest

They said the higher the number the thinner.. As long as it's not like a pencil I'll have to WOMAN up and take one for the team 😊

How long? Hopefully the 23 or 21 ain't like darts :/ I'm losing my nerve and they haven't even sent them out yet :0

I use 1" to inject and 1 1/2" to extract

I was so nervous the first time that I injected I though that I would throw up. Now it's routine! The modern needles are incredibly sharp. They sink in like a hot knife into butter. Just take your time. Allow a half hour . Be comfortable. Maybe put some soothing music on. Have a glass of wine maybe. Press the plunger slowly. I have used no 23 s as well They're fine! YOU WILL BE FINE ALSO !

21g x1.5 23g x1.25 is what I bought... I will look tomorrow at colour of needle as they don't change over at GP but I'm sure I saw Green... The colours never change apparently 😊

That's exactly what I use and they are fine...and you will be.

Wedgewood's suggestion is perfect! The thought of it is the only bad bit: once you've done it you'll be fine.

I use two needles like you have got - same ones - coz I try to get every little bit of solution out of the ampoule so definitely blunt the green needle (which is longer so easier to get to the bottom of the ampoule) when I'm doing that!

Blue needles are fine for injecting.

Turn the ampoule upside down after snapping the top off so you only need to insert the tip.

Oh I will.. You maybe close enough to hear the screams 😊 and bad language

I did my first yesterday using the same needles that you have. It was a little uncomfortable at times but I wouldn't say it hurt at all.

It's definitely the thought of doing it that is the worst bit. I nearly passed out, but that was because it was only the second time I'd ever watched a needle go into me (the first being Monday!)

Now that I've done it i just want to get the second one done (tomorrow) I know I'll be more confident and hopefully I won't feel too woozy.

Good luck... you will be fine!
