does anyone else find that the b12 injections give them spots? I have had awful bouts of big red hard spots that stay for about 3 weeks after each injection! better than not having the injections but they are horrid!

spots
Hi Rudders,
Yes I have the same reaction to B12 injections. They are different to an ordinary
Spot as they are sore and stay for such a long time. They cannot be squeezed as there is nothing in them to come out.
I read that they are cystic acne and it is part and parcel of these injections. I find they appear in my hairline from my temples to the nape of my neck. The only thing that I find useful is Sudacream.
Lots of people report this - though can't say I'm one of the sufferers.
Many also report that given time it is something that gets less.
Yes I do, but mainly on my head in my hair, as Jose says they are sore more than anything but do take ages to go. Also I hadn't thought about it before but I do get them less now like Gambit said, I have been on injections for about 9 months and definitely get less now than I did.
How ironic that people are saying that they are getting them post inject. I seem to get these really nasty sores that wont/dont seem to heal properly a few weeks before my next injection. Mostly around my neck but have had a few crop up on my shoulders too. They go relatively soon post inject though.
thanks all, I shall hope that the subside in a few months then as I've only been on injections for 4 months or so.
Yes! I haven't suffered from spots since I was a teenager but as soon as I started having my b12 jabs I started to get terrible acne on my forehead and chin. It is sore but usually clears up within a few weeks (until I have the next jab!)
I had terrible spots at first all over my back, chest and face and they were painful! They have slowly got less and I now only get the odd one. I think it is due to a build up of toxins in your system and you should look at it as a good sign that your body is now starting to heal. It did take a few months for mine to improve but worth putting up with to feel better 🙂
Hi Rudders, yes this happens to me, I have hydroxocobalamin injection every three months from my doctor and I break out, the spots last for about 3 weeks and usually appear around my jawline, they can be quite big and tender, but I have now started to inject myself twice a week with methylcobalamin and with this I get no outbreaks at all.
yes got spots after my loading injections but didnt have any with my 3 monthly jab , so glad they went away!
I think hydroxo B12 does this. I normally inject cyano (that's what is normally used here in the US) but tried some hydroxo recently and it had that effect on me too. Reason I tried hydroxo is some think it works better and injections last longer than cyano.
Hello all, I'm new on here having recently been diagnosed with PA. As many people have reported I too have developed many spots and blackheads all over my chin after the loading dose. I'm 34 and apart from the odd 'hormonal outbreak' I'm usually spot free (I suffer from psoriasis and my face is the only part of my body that's clear - guess it just sods law that I get this side effect)
However, I just wanted to say thanks and to stress how very reassuring it is to see that I am not alone and to also hear that this might ease off given time.
Does anyone know why this happens? Is it typically an allergic reaction? Or is it just the body / immune system realigning?
