I have b12 injections every I2 weeks.I know I need them every 8 weeks as my symptoms return.I have asked him whether I could have them 8wkly but he won't hear of it.

I now have a sore dry cracked tongue.I do supplement with the spray on and off for the last four.Does anyone out there have these symptoms.

Thank you in advance. Xx

I suffered very badly from a sore cracked tongue end of 2014 before I was aware I was b12 deficient. I have not been diagnosed definitely with PA so not getting injections but my mouth problem did improve once taking oral supplements. Not much help to you I know sorry but I have definitely read it is a symptom of PA

Doc put me on 50 mcg b12 tablets which gave me a brief relief of symptoms. I have seen on here some people talking about taking lozenges in between their injections and wondered if these would perhaps help your mouth. I understand how uncomfortable it can be

I was initially diagnosed from geographic tongue with big red spots.

I kept a logbook and assessed a severity score for each of my many symptoms and discussed this with my doctor. Initially he treated me like a hypochondriac and treated my "anxiety" with an antidepressant which actually made matters worse.

Unfortunately this is a pitfall that you have to avoid.

He finally was willing to try changing from 3 months to 2 months on the Hydroxocobalamin. And a couple of months later increased it to monthly injections.

I used the same technique when I moved to the states and changed to cyano. I went from monthly to fortnightly and then to weekly over s six month period. Now I self inject.

Good luck

request appointment with heamatology consultant, let G.P. know you are serious about getting symptoms under proper control and feeling better without the dip between injections.

i was first put on 3 monthly, then consultant said 6 weekly, felt great. Then moved GP and put back to 12wk, argued down to 10wk, argued some more 8wk asked for hospital appointment, consultant put me back on 6wk to 8wk as required, said injections should never have been moved about regardless of the blood results.

good luck hope you get your 8wks.
