I've been struggling with my eyes for over a year (diagnosed with B12 deficiency 9 months ago). I would have days when they would sting and water - being in air conditioning was horrendous. Now they alternate between being blurry (dry eyes) and gritty but taking eye drops does help. I'm on 3 monthly eye clinic appointments as I may have some optic nerve damage. My eyes were fine before my B12 started several years ago. I have always had eyes sensitive to sunlight but this feels worse now. Luckily, we don't see much sun in the UK 🤣R.e. dry mouth and skin, I also get this. Dry skin in patches on my face when I've never struggled with before and also my shins are forearms are bad. Dry hair was also an issue but 4 months in to EOD injections this is starting to improve.
I know this sounds strange but my dry eyes improved a few weeks after I started to eat red meat again, not a lot but I now have it twice a week , could be a coincidence of course but my eyes are definitely better so much so I have been able to reduce the dry eye drops
I have really dry eyes, often feel gritty as well. With me I think it's also perimenopause as well as B12 as it's worse now I'm in my mid 40s. I use drops 3x a day, and have recently started taking sea buckthorn capsules, and also HRT
I have found that one of the things that happen when my B12 is back to normal is that my glands all work better. So eyes do not get dry because tear gland working. More saliva because saliva glands are working. More sweat because sweat glands are working etc.
