I know that if MMA and Hcy are tested and the levels are high it can be an indicator of B12 levels. Is there any point getting these tested if I am taking B12 supplements?

MMA and Hcy
Those two tests can indicate whether or not the B12 in your system is actually doing its job. If you suspect that your B12 supplements, for whatever reason, are ineffective then these tests can provide evidence to back up those suspicions.
That's why I've had my MMA tested, even though my B12 levels are too high to be measured properly - my symptoms seem to be getting worse. If MMA is normal then I'll have to look elsewhere.
The MMA test is more specific to B12 deficiency and the urine test is said to be more accurate. Homocysteine test has to be processed within two hours I believe and levels are high in other diseases too, eg, thyroid, etc. I would imagine both would be affected by supplementation but levels would still be high if you were not absorbing B12.
