I rang the hospital to say I'd like an appointment earlier than Feb 2016 for a camera down my throat. I got a letter today saying Oct 19 2015 ... I fly to turkey that day. I'm gutted.

Sorry about that - may still be worth ringing again if you can't rearrange the trip - and even if you don't chances are it may be cancelled at short notice and rebooked ... and sometimes they rebook it for an even earlier date ... and the letter arrives after the appointment.
