I'd emphasise any neuro symptoms you have. Have a look at these lists.

The treatment for PA or B12 defic with neuro symptoms is more intensive. Your GP can check the information in his/her copy of the BNF (British national formulary) Chapter 9 Section 1.2.

My understanding is that sufferers with neuro symptoms should have loading injections every two days until they stop improving. This could mean continuous loading injections for a period of weeks or even months. then it's supposed to be an injection every two months.

How many loading injections did you get?

Google the "BCSH Cobalamin and Folate Guidelines". Have a look at page 29. The whole document is worth reading.

Has your GP checked your folate and ferritin(iron) levels? You need good levels of iron, B12 and folate for your treatment to work well. Some sufferers respond better to different forms of B12 eg methyl cobalamin, the NHS uses hydroxycobalamin.

If you ring the PAS, they may be able to give you helpful info. You can leave a message and they will get back to you.

Some sufferers just don't do well on the standard treatment and resort to extra supplementation.

I had 6 loading doses over 2 weeks.

I was only prescribed ferrous sulphate 3 x per day

and vit D 1 x daily.

next B12 end of sept, but symptoms definitely returning.

Neuro symptoms could include the following:

dizziness, numbness, tingling, pins and needles, tinnitus, tremor, weakness in limbs, restless legs, balance problems, memory problems, incontinence (Other examples if you click on links).

Do you have any of these? Or other neuro symptoms?

If you have neuro symptoms then I don't think 6 loading doses over two weeks was following the advice in BNF Chapter 9 Section 1.2.

Not what you're looking for?
